Coach Jacqueline Bio
I’ve been an athlete my whole life since I was three. I started out in gymnastics and spent 10 years as a competitive gymnast. I also spent 4 years as a springboard diver and dance competitively on and off over the years. If cheerleading had been available where I grew up I certainly would have gotten into it sooner but my first opportunity to become a cheerleader was in law school. So, I joined the varsity team at UBC in 2010 and became the captain in 2013. It was an awesome team and I loved cheering at school games but my inner child was still a competitive gymnast and I wanted something a little bit more competitive. So, in 2013 I joined an All-Star level six team, and went to the world championships in Florida with that team. Since 2014 I have changed my personal focus in training to bodybuilding and fitness and I'm currently the National Fitness champion. However, in 2017 and 2018 I had the privilege of assistant coaching tumbling and cheerleading for Midnight Cheer Athletics in Vancouver. I loved being around such a positive team environment and hope to be involved in coaching cheerleading and gymnastics for the rest of my life.
Our recreational cheerleading class offers an opportunity to “try out” the program. Time is spent on skill building to ensure safety and sound development of fundamentals. During the 9-week session, students will learn basic stunting and tumbling, jump technique, motions and dance. A great intro to cheerleading.
